Haydn – Nelson Mass – Saturday 6 June

The Thomas Tallis Society Choir and Orchestra invite you to an uplifting evening of sacred choral music, culminating in Joseph Haydn’s magnificent Nelson Mass (Missa in Angustiis).

The programme opens with Haydn’s jubilant Te Deum in C major, followed by expressive shorter works including If Ye Love Me by Anna Semple and Remember Not, Lord by George Eoghan Desmond. Two much-loved works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart — the graceful Epistle Sonata and serene Ave verum corpus — add elegance and reflection to the evening.

The concert concludes with Haydn’s dramatic and triumphant Nelson Mass (Missa in Angustiis), one of the greatest masterpieces of the choral repertoire.
